GENERAL POLICIES

Lesson Commitment

Lessons are for learning, guidance, and encouragement — not a substitute for home practice. Students are expected to practice daily, ideally for a length equal to or greater than their lesson time.

Cancellations & Makeups

We understand life happens. While we cannot guarantee makeups for missed lessons, we do our best to accommodate emergencies and illness. Instructors will always reschedule lessons they must cancel.

Parental Involvement

For children under 6, a parent or caregiver should attend lessons during the first year. For ages 6–12, attendance is optional but encouraged to support practice at home.

Instruments & Materials

Students must have a properly working instrument and assigned materials for each lesson. We’re happy to assist in choosing quality instruments and accessories.

Studio Etiquette

Students may arrive up to 15 minutes early and should be picked up within 15 minutes after their lesson. Children under 14 must be supervised when outside the building.

Media Release

Occasionally, photos or short videos may be taken for studio newsletters, social media, or the website. Student names are never shared without permission, and families may opt out at any time.

Urbana Strings Studio Space

The following guidelines help ensure that lessons and communication run smoothly, while also fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect and dedication.  Our goal is to support each student's growth within a clear, thoughtful, and encouraging framework
